Privacy
Your ECG stays on your iPhone. Guru ECG has no account, no cloud, no analytics, no ads and no tracking.
Your recordings
Guru ECG records the ECG from your Polar H10 chest strap. The ECG and everything worked out from it — the beats, possible extra beats, heart rate, motion, sleep and your notes — are analysed on your iPhone. Nothing is sent to us or to anyone else.
Recordings are stored as files in the app's own folder on your iPhone. They are not included in iCloud or computer backups. A recording leaves the phone only when you share it yourself with the Share button. If you delete the app, iOS deletes its recordings too.
Location
When a recording starts, the app asks for your location, only while you use the app, to name the place: a street or a town. To turn the coordinates into a name it asks Apple's map service, so the coordinates go to Apple for that lookup. The name and the coordinates are saved with the recording. If you share a recording, the place goes with it. You can say no: the app works without location, the recording just has no place.
Apple Health
Access to Apple Health is optional, and you choose what to allow. The app reads workouts, resting heart rate, heart rate and your date of birth, to set your heart rate zones and to show workouts in a recording. It writes heart rate, heart rate variability and heart rate recovery measured by the Polar H10. This data stays in Apple Health on your devices; Guru ECG does not send it anywhere.
Other permissions
Bluetooth is used only to receive the signal from your Polar H10. If you add a note with Siri, Siri turns your speech into text. That is done by Apple, under Apple's privacy policy, not by the app.
Purchases
If you buy something in the app, Apple handles the payment. We receive no payment details and no personal data.
Not a medical device
Guru ECG is not a medical device and does not diagnose any condition. Show your recordings to a doctor.
